Stephen Weston

Stephen Weston (John1) was born on 8 Dec 1667 in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA. Stephen died in Reading, Middlesex MA, on 30 Apr 1753; he was 85. He was buried in the Laurel Hill Cemetery , Reading, Middlesex, MA on 2 May 1753.

On 22 Mar 1693-4 in Reading, MA when Stephen was 26, he married Sarah Townsend of Woburn and Lynn, MA, daughter of John Townsend & Sarah Pearson. Born on 4 or 14 Sep 1672-3 in Lynn, Essex Co., MA. Sarah died in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA, on 1 Mar 1739/1740; she was 66. They lived in Reading, MA where he was a farmer.

Stephen Weston was an industrious man and had substantial property and he was of exemplary character. His father gave him 25 acres of land on 17 Feb 1691-2 in the westerly part of Reading. The family lived on a farm along with the Woburn line in Reading. Stephen purchased 6 acres of meadow from John Carter of Woburn near an area called "The Land of Nod" on 30 Aug 1701. On 20 May 1706 he bought 3 acres of swamp and meadow at Lubbers Brooks from John and Bethiah Carter for 6L. On 1 Mar 1723 he sold 9 acres near 100 acres to Nathaniel Parker, a Cooper, for 17L. He was a Selectman in 1724,1727 and 1736.

They had the following children:

1. Stephen Wesson (Weston) Jr. was born on 10 Apr 1697 in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA, baptized 1 Jan 1720-1 in Reading, MA and died in Wilmington, Middlesex, MA on 5 Jan 1777. On 6 Dec 1721 when Stephen was 24, he married 1) Elizabeth Parker in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA and 2) Sarah Parker (Killman) .

2. Isaac Weston was born 14 Sep 1699 in Reading, Middlesex, MA and died 1 May 1778 in Reading, Middlesex, MA. He was buried Reading Cemetery, Reading, MA 4 May 1778. He married 1) Eunice ___ and 2) Elizabeth Pratt on 28 Jan 1707-8 in Reading, Middlesex, MA.

3. John Weston (Died Young) was born on 19 Oct 1707 in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA and died in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA, on 27 Jan 1708/1709; he was buried 28 Jan 1707-8.

Thomas WESSON (John1). Born on 20 Nov 1670 in Reading, Middlesex Co., MA. Thomas died on 3 Apr 1745; he was 74. In 1694 when Thomas was 23, he married Elizabeth BROWN. They had one child:

1. Ephraim. Born in 1700. On 30 Nov 1731 when Ephraim was 31, he married Mary POOLE, daughter of Jonathan POOLE & Bridget FITCH. Born on 30 Jun 1711. Mary died on 5 Jun 1737; she was 25.
