No. 4. George Hodges (1711-1786) was of more than ordinary mind and influence. In 1749 and 1750 he kept a public house in Taunton, and in 1754 he bought land in Woodstock, Connecticut, and took his family there. His son, George Hodges, served in the French and Indian war, enlisting in 1756. He married Susannah, daughter of Morgan and Susannah (Willis) Cobb, of Taunton - marriage date 27 July 1737 in Taunton. Both were buried in the old graveyard in South Warren, Massachusetts.
