About Thomas Bagwell

Thomas Bagwell was the son of Henry Bagwell (c 1668-10/1/1734) and Margaret Drummond (c 1670-2/27/1750/51). He was born circa 1714 at Accomack County, Virginia.

Thomas was named in his uncle's will on October 27, 1722 at Northumberland County, VA. In his will, Alexander Bagwell gave to his wife, Neomi all her part of the estate which I possessed with her when I married her. To my wife during her widowhood, my plantation at Matomkin in Accomack County, VA., my part of the water mill in Accomack and the half of the 224-A of marsh lying at the mouth of Guilford Creek, which is now between my brother Hil(lost) Bagwell and me; and after her widowhood, to my daughter Mary when 18.

To my cousin William Bagwell, son of Henry my whole right to 160 acres in Old Plantation Neck, bounded by (Capt.) Graves northern line and for want of his heirs to his brother Thomas.

To each of my three daughters, Rebecca, Sarah & Anne, a silver spoon and to my daughter Mary Bagwell. The remainder of the estate to my wife and daughters Margaret & Mary. Also, to my brother Henry, silver shoe buckles.

Thomas was named in his father's will on August 12, 1734 at Accomack County, VA. He was named as son, Thomas Bagwell in the will of Henry Bagwell and given land in Old Plantation Neck.

Thomas was named in his brother's will on September 23, 1738 at Accomack County, VA. Shown as a brother, Thomas Bagwell in the will of Stephen Allen, mother Margaret Bagwell.

Thomas was named in his sister's will on October 2, 1744 at Accomack County, VA. Shown as Thomas Bagwell in the will of Patience Custis, who named the Allen & Bagwell siblings.

Thomas Bagwell married Patience Nock (c 1734-2/27/1797) circa 1756. Patience was the daughter of Benjamin Nock & Rose Armey Trader.

The children of Thomas & Patience Bagwell were: Stephen Bagwell (c 1760-1786); John Bagwell (c 1762-1786) and Rose "Rosey" Bagwell (ca 1764).
