Deacon Thomas Cooper came to New England in 1638 on the ship Diligent, John Martin-Master, which sailed from Ipswich, Suffolk and arrived at Boston on 10 August 1638. He brought his wife, Rachel, and two of his children, i.e., Thomas, Jr. age eight and daughter, Elizabeth age one.
