This possibly is him at findagrave, though the death year does not match the above information. His son of the same name is in the same cemetery (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/181231333) so there's a good chance it's him:

The authors of the following memorial make it clear they see Mary's father Thomas Jefferson Hammer as a villain who made her unhappy and even contributed to her early death:

Hillsboro [Oregon] Independent, Aug. 9, 1895:

IN MEMORIAM.

Mary Bell Hammer, the subject of this memoir, was born March 1, 1882, and died July 9, 1893, aged 13 years, 4 months and 8 days. When but 5 days old her mamma was called to her heavenly home, and little Mamie was left to the care of strangers. When 4 1/2 months of age, her grandmother (Sister Duncan) and her aunt (Mrs. D.A. Smith) received her into their hearts and homes and gave her such care and love as the dear child needed.

When 9 1/2 year of age her father took her with him to his home in California, where she remained until April, 1895. At that time she returned to the home and love her heart so longed for. How much the heart-yearning for loved ones and home had to do with breaking down the once robust and healthy constitution, making it an easy prey to the dread disease, consumption, we may not now, but when she came back three short months since she was but the shadow of the beautiful child of four years ago, and as we now see it, she was only permitted to come home to close her earthly life in the arms of those who had never ceased to love her. From the time she came into the care of the loved ones named, she had the helps of Godly living, of careful training and a happy christian experience; so much so, that when in her sixth year, she asked to be taken into the church, and thus publicly confess Jesus as her savior. This was gladly granted, and if a patient, obedient, happy childhood, with a prayerful, consistent christian life means anything, little Mamie found Jesus, and proved his promises to be yea and amen.

When she returned to her friends here it was evident to all that her stay would be but short, so everything that could be done to make the way pleasant was done, and in the joy that came to her heart by such tender ministries, she hoped to regain her health and enjoy years of happiness in this happy home, but it was not go to be, for she rapidly gave way before disease until the end came.

The precious words that fell from her lips during the days of her suffering will be remembered with joy for years to come. No words of complaint, but with sweet submission to the will of God, in the furnace she conquered, sin was removed and death had lost it sting.

She called for hymns of Joy and rejoiced in them, and then while her precious lips were chill with the seal of death she prayed--prayed for some of the dear ones who had gone so far away from right; prayed for those who had helped her along life's way.

The last afternoon of life, knowing she must soon go, she called all the friends to her bedside, and after song and prayer, she gave her messages of love for each, divided up the trinkets and keepsakes with those to whom her heart had always clung, and in a few moments fell "asleep in Jesus.”

She is dying; cold drops gather
On her forehead, smooth and high,
And a more than earth light beaming
In her lovely, brilliant eye.

She is dying; ope the window wide,
And let the sunset ray
Greet once more on earth her vision,
Ere her spirit pass away.

Let her breathe the pure air of heaven;
Let her hear the wild bird's song.
Bring some water, cool and limpid,
Moisten her parched lips and tongue.

Now her bloodless lips are moving,
Brighter grows her brilliant eye;
While we watch to catch the whisper
Of her long and last goodbye.

She is dying; see the smile of rapture
Playing on her pallid face.
Bright angelic forms are waiting,
Soon she'll feel their sweet embrace

It is finished; now she conquers,
Homeward has the spirit fled.
Death's cold arms embrace her body
Precious Mamie, she is dead.

Goodbye darling. You, through grace divine, reached the city of God. We, too, by grace shall see you again.

C.M. Bryan
