Bio by: Linda L. Cottrell Liss: Known as "Sandy Tom" to differentiate him from two other related Thomas Jarvis's. Thomas Henderson Jarvis was my maternal great grandfather.

He and Nancy Caroline "Aunt Bug" Keen Jarvis were married in Roane County, 22 Aug 1874 by Rev. Daniel Hoffman. He died of Tb in 1926. Their 17 children were: Newton Jasper, Benton, James Alfred, Nelson Wilson, Effie Florence, Nancy C., Thomas Berton, Twins Okey Homer & Rebecca Francis, Twins Elliott & Everett, Elmer Franklin, Unnamed Son, Marie Emma, Another Unnamed Son, Sally Ann and Walter McClellan "Mack".

Thomas Henderson Jarvis and Nancy Caroline Keen Jarvis were the parents of 17 children, including two sets of twins, and two deaths at birth. Nancy was lovingly known in the area as "Aunt Bug", who served the community as a midwife. She was the daughter of James and Nancy King Keen.

After Thomas's death she married widower, James Boone Tallman. She loved to read but went blind sometime before her 1933 death.
