Thomas Nelson was the 2nd son, and eldest to have surviving male issue; he married in 1795, Francis, 3rd daughter and 7th child of Governor John Page and Francis (called Fannie) Burwell, his wife. (Ref: Genealogy of the Page Family of Virginia)

The children of Thomas and Francis Nelson were: 1. Thomasia Nelson, born about 1796; married 1821, Bishop William Meade, of the Episcopal Church, Va., and was his second fie. She was buried in The Fork Church graveyard, Hanover Co., Va. 2. Fannie Nelson, born about 1798; died unmarried. 3. Thomas Nelson, born abour 1800; died unmarried. 4. Rev. George Washington Nelson, born March 2, 1800; married, about 1835, Jane E. Crease, of Alexandria, Va., and was her first husband. She was born on Oct 31, 1816 and died Jul 3, 1878 and buried in East End Cemetery, Wytheville, Va. He died February 20, 1840.
