About Thomas Pierce, Sr.

Imperfect Book

  • Pierce, Harvey Cushman. 1936. Seven Pierce Families: A Record of Births, Deaths and Marriages of the First Seven Generations of Pierces in America..
    • "ROBERT Peirce, born in England, married in Dorchester, Ann, daughter of John Greeneaway. He probably came over in the Mary and John with his father-in-law, who was one of the passengers. The vessel sailed from Plymouth and arrived at Nantasket, Mass., May 30, 1630, after a seventy-day passage, bringing 140 persons who were the first settlers of Dorchester. He was granted land in “ye necke,” no South Boston in 1638. He died January 6, 1665, and his widow, Ann, died December 31, 1695, aged about 104 years.
    • [CHILDREN]
      • 2. Thomas, 1635-1706; married Mary, 1642-1704, daughter of George Proctor. [Disproved parentage. Please see primary sources below. This mistake is found elsewhere owing to this book]
      • 3. Mary, married 1650, Thomas Hearing; seven children; her daughter Mary, born 1652, married Thomas Haven.
      • 4. Deborah, 1639-1639.
      • 5. Sarah; the the will of her grandfather, John Greeneaway, dated 1650, names her living at that date.
