Thornberry Bolling was the son of William Bolling of Orange, VA and wife Anne Sims. He was born between 1736 and 1744 in Orange County, Virginia. He died after 1794, place unknown. No known wife or children.
In 1774, Thornberry served as witness to a land deed between Andrew and Sarah Trible of Louisa County, Virginia, and Brumfield Long of Orange County, Virginia.
Thornberry and his sister Sarah were mentioned in his mother's will, dated 1790, and he served as her executor.
He appears in the 1792 tax rolls for Orange County, but disappears from record by 1794.
Thornberry served in the American Revolution, enlisting in the 2nd VA Regt. Injured in the war, he was sent home to recover and spent about five months at his mother's home. He returned to active duty and survived the war.
