Thys Boshoff (1940 - 2006)

Brief overview:

Thys (66), was shot dead, and his wife Babs, wounded by two armed intruders in Carolina, Mpumalanga on their farm on Tuesday 19th June 2006. Thys was shot in the face and his wife in the hand with a shotgun, as they were trying to prevent the intruders from coming through a door, spokesman Captain Klaas Maloka said.

Benadie said the attackers fled with cash. Two shotguns were stolen from a previous attack, which were allegedly used to shoot Boshoff and his wife. .

  • Superintendent Izak van Zyl said the Mpumalanga serious and violent crime unit made the arrests, some in White River and Nelspruit
  • Police also confiscated six firearms and some ammunition. Items stolen from the farms were also recovered, but not the Boshoffs' vehicle.
