Veldkornet Jan Booysen

The farm Krokodilskraal was first inspected on the 27th of January 1859 by J.J. Roos. On the 12th of April 1867 the farm was transported to its first owner, Petrus Albertus Venter. On the same day the farm was transported from P.A. Venter to Herman Jeppe.

Jeppe held on to the farm for more than a year, when on the 28th of September 1868 the farm was transferred from him back to Petrus Albertus Venter. On the 26th of September 1870 the farm was transferred from P.A. Venter to Jan Jonathan Booysen (father of person in current profile).

The first division of the farm took place on the 26th of November 1873 when the southern portion of the farm was transported from Jan Jonathan Booysen (father of person in current profile) to Adrian Hendrikus Stander. After the death of Jan Jonathan Booysen (father of person in current profile), the remaining northern portion was transported on the 15th of October 1888 to Cornelis [probably: Cornelius] Hermanus Zacharias Booysen and Jan Booysen ((person in current profile)). These two brothers are well known early residents of Pretoria and surroundings. Jan [Jonathan] Booysen, who became a Veldkornet, was married to Maria Elizabeth Prinsloo, and stayed on a portion of the farm Wonderboom in present-day Pretoria. He was born on the 10th of October 1864 and died on the 20th of October 1923.
