Lancaster New Era, Thursday, 27 January 1944, p. 23: "WALLACE McQUATE Wallace McQuate, sixty-five, of Lincoln, died this morning at 2 o'clock, of a complication of diseases at the home of his son, Harry G. McQuate, W. Main St., Ephrata, where he has resided for the past four months. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Church, Ephrata. His wife, who was Emma Grumbine before marriage, died a year and a half ago. Besides the son at whose home he died, he is survived by a daughter, Martha, wife of Charles Witwer of Rothsville; five grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Henry McQuate, Reamstown; John, Lincoln; Mrs. Mary Kulp, Millport; and Jonas McQuate, Quakertown."
