About Wilhelm (Wolf) Tauber
Wilhelm [Wolf] Tauber, b. Vienna, c1820 [1819-1824], was the second son of Jonas and Josefine (Telscher) Tauber. He died in Vienna on 6 Sep 1869: “Wilhelm Tauber, age 50, d. Vienna, 6 Sep 1869 -- b. in Vienna.” Alternate burial record says he was age 45 at death -- “Prot. Alter 50, plötzlicher Tod, Mutter lebte noch, Börsensensal, geschieden” [translated: “Prot., age 50, sudden death, mother still alive, stock market, divorced”].
He was living in Budapest when he was married in Jan 1852: “Wilhelm Tauber, age 36 [*age overstated], of Vienna, and Helene Vogel, age 22, of Pest, m. Pest, 25 Jan 1852.” She was probably the dau of David Vogel (who witnessed). They moved to New York City almost immediately after, and their son, Heinrich, was born there on 22 Apr 1852. They later divorced, and Helene (Vogel) Tauber died in Vienna on 18 Dec 1877: “Helene Tauber, geb. Vogl, age 48, b. Bosing, Ungarn, d. Vienna, 18 Dec 1877.”
