William (2) Mendenhall

William Mendenhall was born Jan. 25th, 1818 in England and died in South Africa, most likely in Natal. He was the son of William Mendenhall and Anna Wood.

William married (1). Married Mary Haworth and had four children. After Mary died, he married (2) Louisa Dickinson, July 26th, 1859, at Bath, England, and sailed for Port Natal, South Africa, two days later. Great Britain was in the midst of a depression in the 1840s, causing many millions of her inhabitants to emigrate, mainly to the United States, Canada and Australia. Natal received a small percentage of these emigrating masses.William and Louisa had four children, all born in South Africa.
