Notes from Pam Wilson:
New note 4-22-2018. I've never found out who the children of this William might have been. He had three sons listed in the 1790 census who would have been born 1774-1790.
Based upon DNA evidence linking the descendants of Jonathan Eldridge of Anson County to the Arledge family DNA, I am suspecting that the father of Jonathan Jonathan Eldridge, of Anson Co NC and his brother James E. James E Eldridge, of Anson County NC was a son of William of Mecklenburg: I don't have a name for him, but his age would fit as one of these three sons. NN Eldridge, of Anson? Co NC [uncertain parentage]
James E's only son was named William.

Aldridge, William 01-03-02-00-00
Where did he go after this?
I suspect he went to Fairfield Co, SC: Listed in 1800 SC Fairfield Co, SC census is an ARLEDGE, #222 William 00100-22000-00. This would put his year of birth 1775-1784, and give him 2 daughters under 10 and two aged 10-15, with no wife listed.
