Biography
William Adolph Gracey was the son of Rev. Dr. John Talbot and Annie (Ryder) Gracey. He was the husband of Abbie Luella (Warfield) Gracey. In 1897 he was the composer of "Sleep on, baby, on the floor" - Musical settings [vocal quartet (soprano, alto, tenor and bass), unaccompanied] - Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote the words. He was editor of the Geneva Daily Times. In 1933 he was a Dry candidate for delegate to the New York Convention to ratify the 21st amendment - defeated.
