William Healy son of Robert Healy, a pig-dealer and Nora Daly, one of eight children of Fair Street Mallow co Cork, Ireland and William was one of 5 brothers who emigrated to the United States before 1924. Before he emigrated he worked as a message boy in Mallow, work was hard to find at the time the troubles in Ireland were just over at the time and the country only started to build up the independence at the time, many were forced to try and make a living elsewhere.
All brothers who emigrated were offered an initial stay at the home of their maternal uncle Thomas Daly who emigrated to the United States around 1880
William arrived at Ellis Island on 1 Oct 1923 onboard the Carmenia.
William married Winifred Gallagher from Sligo in New York and the couple had two sons and a daughter who are all still living in the United States
In 1930 William, his wife and the two eldest children lived in White Plains Westchester New York where William was employed as a superindendent By 1940 the family had moved to South Kensico Avenue, Mount Pleasant, Westchester New York where William now worked as a watchman. William died in Vallhalla New York at the age of 87
