About William Hoskins

(2) William Hoskins, born 1615/1616 in Cork Co., Ireland, died 7 September 1695 in Massachusetts.

On 2 November 1636, he married Sarah Cushman, who must have died soon after.

In early 1638 his mother Anne wrote a letter; On 13 January 1637/38 Mrs. Anne Hoskins wrote to her cousin, John Winthrop, Jr. In the letter she states that her husband had been dead 3 years "and there is none of us alive but I and my dafter". She requests "if my son be living let him rigt me a letter and send word how hee is as sune as he can"; and hopes "you have done the part of a kinsman for him as you promised mee." She concludes "my dafter and both remember our services to you and her love to her son willum Hoskins". (Winthrop papers 4-7,8). (John endorsed her letter "Cos. Ann Hoskins from Ireland")

On 21 December 1638 in Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, he married Ann Hinds, born 1616 in England, died 1665 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts.
