About William Pantony [Convict "Matilda" 1791]

William PANTONY was born c1752

He was convicted and sentenced to 7 years transportation.

He arrived in Sydney Cove on 1/8/1791 on "Matilda". On arrival he was sent to Norfolk Island.

He married Sarah Smith and when she died in 1804, William travelled on "Buffalo" in 1805 to Port Dalrymble in Van Diemens Land. He looked after Sarah's children from her first marriage.

William returned to NSW in 1811 and received a full pardon.

He married Francis "Fanny" DYER on 11/10/1813 at Windsor.

William was murdered 8/5/1819 at Richmond, by Matthew FINNIGHAN.
