William Stone was born on June 27, 1693, in Bristol, Bristol County, Rhode Island, the son of William and Hannah Stone.[1]
Captain William Stone was a man of much prominence in the early history of Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He was town treasurer from 1726 to 1733, inclusive. He was one of the selectman ten years, between 1730 and 1750. He represented the town in the Legislature five years, and was captain in the militia. His wife was Mehitable Lane.[2]
He died on Jan. 29-31, 1772 in Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[3]
