Fast Facts: William Stroud III was a well known illiterate judge. He and
Mordecai Boone owned a farm and mill in McManville, TN. Stroud kept
the farm and Boone kept the mill. During the war of 1812, Stroud was
part of the standing militia. When he died, he left each child 400 acres
and 6 slaves.
