About Winifred Musick
The HANNON house was located at the present day Mimosa Inn (Polk County, NC.) It was destroyed and her parents and most of her siblings killed in an Indian massacre, but Winifred and her brothers, William, Jr. and Edwin escaped down the Pacolet
River to the fort of her uncle, Col. John B. Earle. The Earles raised the Hannon survivors of the Hannon Family Massacre.
Her family (the Earles) objected to her marriage to William because of his illegitimate child and his conviction for robbery, but he persuaded her to elope with him. They moved to Illinois for a year, and then moved to St. Louis County, MO.
