About Winifrid Frances Davis

Winifrid Davis

Winifrid Sierralta-Godoy was born on December 25th, 1854 to Elizabeth "Bessie" Page, actress, and Nicholas Sierralta-Godoy, Chilean diplomat.

In her childhood, she resided in the Page family home at 84 Newington Green Road, Islington East, Middlesex, London. She was also apparently taken in as a young girl by her mother's husband, a Mr. Musgrave, since she appeared as an actress under the name of "Winny Musgrave" in 1869.

She was apparently well educated in as much as she ran a school for boys before immigrating to America with her husband and children.

On August 15, 1878, Winifrid married Charles Henry Davis at the Church of Our Lady & St. Joseph, Tottemham Rd., Kingsland:

After their marriage they continued to live at the Page home.

After emigrating to America, Winifrid taught at St. Xavier’s College Cincinnati. She tutored her children at home, enabling them to stand from exams in a class far beyond that of their peers.

Winifrid died on March 4, 1932.

If you go to http://www.maps.google.com and search for this address:

100A Ball's Pond Rd, London, Islington, N1, United Kingdom‎ - 020 72544378‎

This will give you an overhead view of where the church is… you can also use street view to see it from street level, though you may have to move down the road a bit until you are centered in front of it. It's next to a field and looks like church.

Search for this address: 84 Newington Green Road, Islington East, Middlesex, London. And this is where they lived. Again, you can use street view to view the street where on one side it’s apparently tatty businesses across from townhome style homes.

Initial family records indicated she was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Tampa. However, the link to her Find-A-Grave memorial shows her tombstone in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Tampa.
