Youngwolf was a Cherokee man

Biography

Youngwolf (Conrad) was born about 1786 in the Cherokee Nation, the son of Cherokees Gunrod and his wife, Onai or Ali. Most of what we know about this family comes from the records of the Moravian Missionaries. One entry describes Young Wolf as “a very sensible, respectable, and unusually temperate man,” the brother of Rattling Gourd. [1] Youngwolf married a woman named Jennie Taylor. They were the parents of five children, Susie, Nannie, Margaret, Annie, and Dennis Wolf. [2] They also adopted a white child named Quay or Blueberry who had been abandoned by his mother. [3] The Moravians recorded in 1813 that Youngwolf was suffering from consumption. [4] and he died about 1814. [5]
