Brendan Swemmer

Jacob Glen Cuyler is my second cousin four times removed's husband. He was the founder of the town Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa and the Judge in the Slagtersnek Rebellion of 1815.

His father was Abraham Cornelius Cuyler, the progenitor of the name in South Africa and the last mayor of colonial Albany, USA. having lost everything as a result of the American Revolution. His father was a merchant, landholder, and mayor of Albany from 1742 to 1746. His mother was a daughter of Albany's foremost New Netherland-era family.

I am trying to find a link between Jacob Glen Cuyler and John Cuyler, who was a Surgeon General, amongst other things, in the American Civil War and who inspected the infamous prisoner-of-war camp called Andersonville near Macon, near Atlanta, USA.
