Football (Soccer) has been the most popular sport in the United Kingdom since the 1860s.

in the United Kingdom football is organised separately in each of the four countries of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Norther Ireland), sometimes referred to as the home nations, each having a national football association responsible for the overall management of football within their respective country.

There is no United Kingdom national football team. It has been the most popular sport in the United Kingdom since the 1860s.

  • The Football Association, (FA) is responsible for England and the Crown Dependencies and was founded in 1863,
  • The Scottish Football Association (SFA) was founded in 1873
  • The Football Association of Wales founded in 1876
  • The Irish Football Association (IFA) founded in 1880.

The above are the world's four oldest national football associations and play an important part in football worldwide as they take up four of the eight seats on the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which determines the Laws of the Game, the other four seats being occupied by FIFA.

Please link the profiles of any British Footballers (both men and Women), to this project. Please include those from the following.
