Familie/Family Potgieter

The purpose of this project is to have a platform where Potgieter descendants can share information, discuss problems and make enquiries.

Harmen Jansz Potgieter Stamvader/Progenitor

  • Name Variations: Harman Jansz. During his lifetime he was always referred to as Hans Jansz van Noorthoorn. The surname Potgieter seems to have been first used, at the Cape, by his children. In the inventory drawn up after the death of Beletje Fredricksz in 1711, he is called Harmen Potgieter.
