Media Section: Also called Chuppapah name denotation is the King of The Cheraw, the John Harris that stayed with the Catawba; which is different than the Old Cheraw transfer community that went to Tabb's Creek (termed Chief of the Churrah). The myths is that the Tabb's Creek and the Congaree Cheraw and the Coosabo Cheraw and the Cheraw under

When the Council of Virginia offered tribes protection in 1732, the Cheraw asked to join the Saponis is a myth.

What actually happened is the Saponi and the Scott of the ydna QM3 were forced to go to Indian School at Lawranceville. . In 1738, a smallpox epidemic decimated both the Cheraw and the Catawba but not all and the various groups, including the group on the Cheapoke Creek which is Saranaton Creek in the earliest maps at Coropeake, were not decimated by anything, completely, ever most especially the pre BIA Indian Agent's group to Andrew Jackson, Agent Choctaw Bill's group. In 1755, a distinct group Cheraw were persuaded by South Carolina Governor James Glen to join the Waccamaw, Pedee, and Catawba, led by King Haigler in a Military Confederacy. We have their names on record on the avatar on the Geni Project called Scotts of the QM3 Cluster. How would the Cheraw be extinct if there is still a ydna line of them and also given the fact, they have, in part joined with the TX Cherokee, members of National Congress of the American Indian which requires their member tribes to be state recognized, minimally and in April 2021, the Old Cheraw lines of Choctaw Bill's community were constitutionally added to the TX Cherokee, their leadership legacy never ended from their Kingston Co Court Petition for a More Fair Court, through their Lott Fayard School and on to the present. . The remnants of the tribes combined but not 100%, 45 specific people joined the Catawba confederacy, on record. . Some of the tribe moved northl, south, east, and most especially west to MS where there is a Cheraw, MS who were given land by 2 Presidents who have a leadership legacy to Sgt William Glover of "Charraw Settlement" along Drowning Creek, (present-day Robeson County) North Carolina. The tribe was mostly destroyed before the middle of the 18th century and European encroachment on their old territory.is a major myth.

By 1754, Bennett Locklear of the Lumber River are males tho married into this group started calling themselves Lumbee and they go back to the Figrow Chicacoan.

The Cheraw were last noted as a distinct tribe among the Catawba in 1768 but actually that is a fallacy because in the very same year was given the Tabb's Creek "Chief of Churrah" who fought with Eaton in Fishing Creek the group lands which is well known as Old Cheraw's District. The fact that Capt Keaton, the legislator for the making of Old Cheraw's District was married to a self terming Old Cheraw, it would not be appropriate to discount this Little Pee Dee landed group whose lands were flipped and they lest to go fight with the munitions supplier, CHoctaw Bill himself an Old Cheraw. During the Revolutionary War, the Scott men of the QM3 show zero living anymore with the Catawba and were shown on the map to their land at Tarboro, always distinct and archeology of the U of Southern SC dept held their studies on the group 's clay works of those who did stay with the Catawba. Some of the group removed their families to the same areas near Danville, Virginia, where they had lived earlier. Their warriors served the Patriot cause under General Thomas Sumter. This particular group was one generation living in that area and the next generation moved to Sumpter Co.

John married Mary (Parker) Harris /Old Cheraw. Together they had the following children: Cheepoake Elizabeth (Harris) Terry-Saunders / Old Cheraw.

atdna See Harris Project in Geni ProjectsThe Connectivity Between Those Claiming HARRIS AND HARRISON NAMES in the 1600 is overwhelming piling up as follows: A commonality amongst hundreds claiming "Niketti Hughes" in the same way as those claiming Mrs. Rich Hooe I; tend to match each other or siblings who match on the signature SNP of 2 @ 71 END SNP 76 for those claiiming Rice Hooe I and Trader Hughes. The preferred spelled Nicati per request of the WV cousins who have many named that way for their oral history of "Nicketti Hughes"; also matchin there are Hooe and Goodwin and Smith named descendants all in less than 10 generations; descending cM in stair steps as the first and second cousins worked this backwards since 2016 growing their circle; 2 @72 is thought to be common to those claiming half cousins so that would be one of Nicati's parents, it is thought.

Feel free to add you participating kit number and Harris /Harrison/ Hooe/ Goodwin / Smith / Parsons, etc ancestor who shares such names.
