Hendrix Family Cemetery, Pensacola, Escambia County ,Florida

Find-a-Grave Per the West Florida Genealogical Society:

Between Old and New Palafox (US29) in the community of Oakfield, just north of Car City. No longer used. There were only a few graves and in the 1980’s, a few broken gravestones could be seen. Now owned by a construction company with a deed restriction on the property. A list of 6 names were read in 1963.

The following is what was found and documented at the Hendrix Cemetery by Ruth Godwin in 1963.

1. Susan HENDRIX (no dates given)

2. Harriet HENDRIX, b. 1 January 1810, d. 24 April 1866

3. Nathan HENDRIX, b. 27 October 1800, no death date given.

4. Jacob HENDRIX, b. 28 Oct 1833, d. July 191?

5. Nannie HERRINGTON no dates given.

6. Thomas P. WALKER, d. 20 October 1892, 42 years old. (a rather large obelisk).

The Hendrix Cemetery was visited in June 1984 by Evan Strohl of the West Florida Genealogical Society (WFGS), who found only three partial stones. There is nothing left to add or confirm. Update 8/4/2018 Mr.Strohl has informed me that the Cemetery is owned by Gulf Power and is closed.
