Profiles

Though technically located within city limits, Memorial Park offers extraordinary rural beauty in a serene setting. In fact, it is not uncommon to see deer roaming the grounds, as well as a variety of birds and other wildlife. The park-like setting gives peace to those who make it their final resting place, and provides quiet comfort to their visiting families.

Washington Park Cemetery Assoc.

This is a large commercial cemetery, established about 1912 as "Woodland Cemetery". However, the first burial did not occur until 18 January 1917 (Sarah Lazenby). By October 1917, Woodland had been renamed Memorial Park and, in 1984, it became part of the Washington Park Cemetery Association.
Note: there are a number of burials with death dates earlier than January 1917. Those persons were moved from other cemeteries/burial sites to Memorial Park at a later date.

The cemetery office can look up burials and can provide section and plot maps.

The cemetery is located 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.
