During the mid 19th century, Baptist missionaries were granted permission from the Six Nations Council to build a church. They broke ground in 1841, and The Tuscarora Baptist Church of The Six Nations was established. In 1964, the congregation moved to their new location on Fourth Line and changed the name to Ohsweken Baptist Church.
