Scott is a United States Air Force base which was among the first four military airfields established in the U.S. It has operated with distinction through every conflict since W.W. I.

Scott Field was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the United States entered World War I in April 1917

It is curently headquarters of Air Mobility Command, and the headquarters of the U.S. Transportation Command, a Unified Combatant Command that coordinates transportation across all the military services.

The base is operated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing, the Air Force Reserve Command's 932d Airlift Wing, and the Illinois Air National Guard's 126th Air Refueling Wing. The latter two units being operationally gained by AMC.

It is located in St. Clair County, Illinois, 24 miles east-southeast of downtown St. Louis.
