Overview

The 2014 Winter Olympic Games, officially known as the XXII Olympic Winter Games, are scheduled to take place in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Russia from 7 to 23 February 2014.

The Sochi Games will be the first ever hosted by the Russian Federation, and the first Winter Games held in Russia or the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was host to the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
