According to Rev Thomas Warren in his book "A HISTORY AND GENEALOGY OF THE WARREN FAMILY IN NORMANDY,GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND, FRANCE, HOLLAND, TUSCANY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ETC. (A.D. 912 -1902)" this line of the Warren family is of Irish decent that settled in the Cape in 1840. See the attached an extract from pg 403 from his book: http://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000032685041113&graph_node_id=project-31730

Also mentioned are some artists in the family Joseph Warren an organist , Charles Warren an artist , Edmund George Warren artist - Landscape painter in water colours, Albert Henry Warren Artist, President of the Institute of Water Colours.

A copy of The "Coat of arms" which accompanied the family on the ship believed to be "The Gundrada" is attached to this project. I have as yet not located the ship which is believed to have been Captained by Thomas Howlett Warren, IV "Capt", b1 / LZL5-N1J. It is belived that the family were shipbuilders. http://www.geni.com/people/Thomas-Howlett-Warren-III-The-Settler/ youngest daughter 6000000023149152387?through=6000000026080311954 Emma Eugenia Warren - Settlers daughter , b6 was born at sea.

George Warren, LVFJ-S8S the furthest ancestor located thus far was a carpenter, so I would think this profesion could have expanded to shipbuilding.

The outer eadge of the "Coat of Arms" I've been told is written in galic. As I cannot read galic I would be none the wiser.
