Paulus Balliet (1717-1777) was a Huguenot(French Protestant) who fled Catholic France for America. Paulus came to Philadelphia,PA and settled in Lehigh County in 1738. Paulus ran a Tavern/Inn, and helped found Ballietsville,PA, and credited with being the founder of the First Line of Balliets.
John Witherup ( 1762-1842) Came to Pennsylvania and settled in Venango, County, Pennsylvania. Mary(Brockington) Witherup(1768-1835) Came to Pennsylvania as an indentured servant to Capt. Thomas Powell and Wife for 12 years in 1772 at the age of 4.
