Paulus Balliet (1717-1777) was a Huguenot(French Protestant) who fled Catholic France for America. Paulus came to Philadelphia,PA and settled in Lehigh County in 1738. Paulus ran a Tavern/Inn, and helped found Ballietsville,PA, and credited with being the founder of the First Line of Balliets.

Thomas, 1611 is often listed as his father, but there is just no proof of this. An error oft repeated is not a fact.
