There are two distinct families in England named Dungey,one from Cranbrook,Kent and one from Cornwall.
The Kent one has nothing to do with Denge or Dungeness but is derived from the surname of John van Donge who was married at Cranbrook in 1692 and founded a line whose name was gradually amended to Dungey by about 1750
They have since spread to many other parts of England and also o fcourse to the British dominions and to USA
So have the Cornish family
