Magnin surname covers a big family of dutch origins. Actually in Netherlands in the XIX century their early surname was Moeijon, according to archival sources. (e.g. Groningen Archives) The oldest Moeijon, Samuel Simson, was born in Warsaw c. 1793 and left for Hoogveen/Drenthe around 1820; then he moved to Assen/Drenthe. There he raised a big family (7 girls and 2 boys). Some of them left to England and then to USA, along the XIX cent.
