He was justice of the peace and captain of horse in 1680 and one of the committee in 1700 to report a revision of the laws which were approved by the General Assembly in 1705, and a
Capt. of James City County Militia in Virginia.
Member of Gov. William Berkeley's Court Martial in 1675 to try the Bacon Insurgents of Bacon's Rebellion.

Captain Anthony Armistead

  • Captain Anthony Armistead (1633-October 26, 1726) was a Justice of the Peace in Colonial Virginia, associated with the Bacon insurgent courts-martial in 1676. He was the son of William Armistead. He resided in Elizabeth City County, Virginia. He was part of Sir William Berkeley's courts-martial in 1676 to try the Bacon insurgents.
  • He was a justice of the peace and a captain of horse in 1680. He was a burgess in 1693, 1696, 1699, and one of the committee in 1700 reporting a revision of the laws which were approved by the General Assembly in 1705.
