ARCHIBALD CAMPBELL Master of Campbell

(aka GILESPIC CAMPBELL or CELESTIN CAMPBELL)

Archibald Campbell is the son of Sir Duncan Campbell of Lochow, afterwards Lord Campbell, and his wife Marjory Stewart. He predeceased his father and died before March 1440. He is said to have married twice. First to Elizabeth Somerville, and second to a daughter of Murdac, Duke of Albany, Regent of Scotland. He left a son named Colin who succeeded his grandfather as Lord Campbell and was afterwards created Earl of Argyll. The Scots Peerage I: 332

Archibald was the eldest son of Duncan, 1st Lord Campbell.

Archibald died ca. 1431–1440, before his father was created a Lord of Parliament in 1457.
