Biography
Joseph Lothrop was born 1624 and baptized April 11, 1624 in Eastwell, Kent, England. He is the son of Lothrop-3|Rev John Lothrop and House-36|Hannah House. His mother died while his father was in jail for non-conformist preaching. Joseph, about ten years old by then, arrived 18 Sept 1634 at Boston, Massachusetts with his father and siblings, according to the Journal kept by Governor Winthrop. Will
Joseph Lothrop of Barnstable made his will on October 19, 1700. In his will, he made bequests to his sons Samuel, Barnabas, Hope and Thomas and daughters Mary Denis and daughter Elizabeth Fuller. He appointed his sons Samuel, Hope and Thomas as his executors. The will was witnessed by Barnabas Lothrop, John Lothrop, Abigail Lothrop and Thankful Hodge.
