Charlotte Maria Baldwin, daughter of Mayor Horace and Maria Baldwin (Wallace), was b. July 7, 1832 in Baldwinsville, New York; married Frederick Allen RICE, b. 1830 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He died suddenly on April 6, 1901 in Houston; she d. there December 29, 1906. Both buried at Glenwood Cemetery, Houston.
Children: Jonas Shearn (1855), William Marsh (1857-1944), Charlotte Minerva "Minnie" (1859-1925), Horace Baldwin (1861), David (1863-1938), Frederick Allen (1868), Lillian (1871), Benjamin Botts (1872-1958), and George Converse (1874-1916).

Charlotte Maria Baldwin, was a daughter of Horace Baldwin, who brought his family to Houston in 1845. Horace Baldwin was a brother-in-law of Augustus Chapman Allen, one of the townsite owners and founders of the City of Houston. The former on coming to Texas engaged in shipping on the Gulf Coast and later became one of the first mayors of the City of Houston. Charlotte Maria Baldwin was born in the New York.
