Biography
1613 -- Elizabeth Jackson was born at England. [1]
Autumn - December 1638 -- Elizabeth Jackson Boynton, her husband William, and William's younger brother John Boynton emigrated with Rev. Ezekiel Rogers's group from Hull, East Riding, Yorkshire, England on the ship "John of London" to Salem then Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony. [2]
December 1638 -- arrived at Massachusetts Bay Colony.
March 13, 1639 -- beginning of the settlement of Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. [3]
1643 -- William Boynton was assigned an acre and a half lot on Bradford Street, next to his brother John's lot. [4]
William subsequently added to his landholdings largely by purchase in various parts of Essex county. [5]
William gave a farm to each of his seven children during his lifetime, and the remainder of his estate to his wife, Elizabeth Jackson. [6]
William and Elizabeth Jackson Boynton had seven children born at Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony: three daughters (Elizabeth, Mary, and Sarah) and four sons (John, Zachary, Joshua, and Caleb). [7]
i. John, born on December 19, 1640; died at Rowley on March 26, 1665. ii. Elizabeth, born on December 11, 1642; married John Simmons at Rowley on November 9, 1664. They lived in Bradford where their Four daughters were born. Elizabeth died on May 1, 1677. iii. Zachary, born on October 11, 1644; buried on August 4, 1660. iv. Joshua, born on August 10, 1646; married Hannah Barnet in Newbury on April 9, 1678. v. Mary, born on July 23, 1648; married John Eastman (born 1640; died March 25, 1720), son of Roger Eastman of Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, on November 5, 1670. All of their children were born at Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. vi. Caleb, born on April 7, 1650; married Mary Moores, daughter of Edmund and Ann Moores of Newbury, on June 24, 1672. vii. Sarah, born on December 1, 1652: buried at Rowley on August 28, 1654. [8] December 8, 1686 -- William Boynton died at Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. [9]
1687 -- Elizabeth Jackson Boynton died at Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. [10]
