1-9 June 1610: Contract between James Earl of Glencairn and William Lord Kilmaurs his eldest son as principal, and Sir James Cunningham of Glengarnock knight, Alexander Cunningham of Crosshill, David Cunningham of Robertland and James Cunningham of Aiket, cautioners of the one part, and Hugh Lord Loudon and DAME ELIZABETH RUTHVEN, his wife, on the other part, by which for the sum of 10,000 merks paid by Lord Loudon to the Earl and his son, they dispone to Lord Loudon and his wife their heirs and assignees the barony of Kilmaurs with the manor place etc. (patronage of churches etc.) But redeemable on payment of said sum of 10,000 merks and expenses by the Earl and his son to Lord Loudon and his wife. At Edinburgh, Loudon and Glasgow 1st, 4th and 9th, June 1610. Witnesses, Alexander Cunningham son to said Laird of Corsehill. Witness to signatures Patrick Cunningham of Halpland (?) Lady Isabel Ruthven married, firstly, Sir Robert Gordon of Lochinvar. She and Sir Robert Gordon of Lochinvar were divorced in 1608. She married, secondly, Sir Hugh Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell of Loudoun, son of Sir Matthew Campbell of Loudoun and Isabel Drummond, after 1608. She is the daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Earl of Gowrie and Dorothea Stewart. Children of Lady Isabel Ruthven and Sir Hugh Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell of Loudoun (1) Jean Campbell (2) Margaret Campbell.
