About Katherine Green

Her name was listed as "Green" and the Green's were given on her marriage application as her parents and the Roger's in her death obituary and no mention of the Green's . Herbert Green's obit lists her as a daughter and so does Ethel's. I have he actual microfiche of Greene county marriages from 1823/4-late 1988 in my possession.

She was adopted by Herbert Lance Green and Ethel V. Morris around the age of 4- 7. After her adopted mother died her deceased sister's husband's 2nd wife produced the adoption papers for her and her sister. They were found within her adopted mother's possessions, it is assumed the sister's husband and family got the adoptive parents home or farm - unsure. Louise never realized she had been adopted and did not learn that she was adopted till sometime after 6 Jul. 1979 when her mother died - when the brother-in-laws 2nd wife found the adoption papers among Ethel's things when sorting out stuff for both Louise and her sister Ruby, who had died years before. I was told that she presented them to Louise. Her sister also adopted was

[Ruby Lee Dayhoff Ruby Lee (--) Dayhoff] was adopted at about age -7 and they were adopted daughters of [Herbert Lance Green Herbert Lance Green] & [Ethel V Morris Ethel V. Morris ]

Her son relayed several years after his mother's death that she had been adopted by Herbert L. and Ethel V. (Morris) Green.

That after her adopted mother died on 6 Jul 1979 ; her deceased sister's husband's 2nd wife produced the adoption papers for her and her sister found within her adopted mother's possessions; it is said that she delivered Louise's adoption paper's to her. Louise never realized she had been adopted and her sister probably never did know as she had died before their adopted mother. I can remember Louise's weird comment while working on the Emery side of the family and the book "At least you know who you are"

Letter of Margie Dayhoff, dated Monday, 12 Mar. 2001, Margie Dayhoff , RR #2 Box. 116, Worthington, Ind. 47471-9735. "...

I do know Herbert and Ethel Morris Green adopted Louise Green Emery and Ruby Lee Green Dayhoff because when Ethel died I found the adoption papers and gave them to Louise (Gerald Lee Emery's mother). One was 7 years. and the other 4 yrs. when they were adopted but don't know which one....Herbert Green, Ethel Morris Green...are all buried in Worthington Cemetery...Herbert L. Green son of H. T. & Lucy Green died September 30,, 1966...Ethel Morris Green died July. 6, 1979 (wife of Herbert L. Green)...."

===========================================

Some time after the death of Louise's Aunt Elsie Viola (Morris) Gravemeir on 7 Feb 1989 Louis & Leonard inherited her house in Bloomfield - they sold the one in Switz City that they had bought off of Manda (Leckner) McKee's (Mrs Lowell) parents it would of been around March 28, 1964 after the death of her father and her mother came to live with her & Lowell . Until that time they lived somewhere its is believed around the Green's

The house in Switz City had no inside toilet - tho had other inside plumbing but to what extent is not known.

===================================

Leonard had become legally blind in the early 1980's and it was told that Louise would tell him when to approximately stop and when to turn left or right while driving.

Louise never learned to drive.

A Letter from Zelma Emery to her sister Pearl dated - Aug. 12th from Sunnyside Washington... Had a letter from Reba. She thought I had stayed with Effa when he (Leonard) was borned said he couldn't work any more & hadn't been able to get disability SS she wanted me to write and tell what I knew, anything I knew would help. I know they were something wrong but what? she didn't say I though may his eyes. Minnie maybe could help them some.

Also during the late 1980's Louise started be be afflicted with Alzheimer and finally was put into the Glenburn Nursing home in Linton sometime after 23 Aug. 1990. Leonard moved from Bloomfield to a small apartment in Linton. It is assumed that their home in Bloomfield had to be sold and money given to the Nursing home for Louise's care Also eventually Leonard ended up in the nursing home also.

===================================

Per Bobbie Zepeda: She claims that her grandfather Paul Rogers - found out where Louise was and would go watch her at a distance and then got where he conversed with her as a normal teenage untill found out who he really was. this is paraphrased since I forgot to copy it over out of private e-mails through GENI.
