Mary Royall

George Archer had a will though we no longer have a copy of it. Consequently, we cannot identify all of his children. We do not know who his wife, Mary - , was. Historians once believed George married the daughter of Maj. Gen. Abraham Wood yet the Gen eral's will mentioned no Archers.

George I died after 24 November 1675 when he wrote his will and before 16 March 1675/6 when Henrico County granted George Archer II administration of his father?s estate . Deed records confirm that George?s widow, Mary, later married Joseph Roya ll II (1646 - 1732) who became the guardian of Archer?s orphans .
