Died at age 72, h/o- Lileous Porter who died 1771 age 63. He was the son of Robert & Eleanor Porter. Married 1720. Their son, Andrew Porter (1743-1813), married Elizabeth McDowell. He was an elder in the church in 1741. Thought to have 9 sons & 5 daughters.

Robert is the father of Andrew Porter, a hero of the American Revolution. He is only Robert Porter's father if Andrew and Robert are truly are brothers.

Robert came to Pennsylvania in 1720 from Ireland.

Andrew Porter was born on September 24, 1743 at Norriton, his father's farm near Norristown, Pennsylvania.[2] He was one of the fourteen children of Robert Porter (1698–1770) and Lileous (née Christy) Porter (1708–1771). His father had immigrated from Derry, Ireland, to New Hampshire in 1720, and later moved to Pennsylvania.
