IN MEMORY OF REUBEN HOOD, YOUNGEST SON OF TUNIS HOOD, SR & ELIZABETH HARRISON HOOD. BORN OCTOBER 4, 1762 IN FREDERICK COUNTY, VIRGINIA. HE SERVED IN REVOLUTIONARY WAR. DIED MAY 13, 1845 IN MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. AND WAS BURIED ON FAMILY HOME PLACE. HIS WIFE JANE IRWIN, DAUGHTER OF CAPTAIN JAMES IRWIN, SR. AND SARA BOYD DIED JANUARY 7, 1831
Reuben Hood was the son of Tunis Hood, and they lived in what is now Mint Hill, NC. Tunis is still buried in an old graveyard off NC 51, but Reuben's grave was desecreated by developers. We are now fighting to save the Tunis grave from the same fate.
