Salomon's birth appears in Czech Jewish Registers released July 2012; he was born January 19, 1795. Image #10 of 82 in Bučovice Births 1784-1848, http://www.badatelna.cz/fond/1073

In his birth record and those of siblings, his mother's name is Böhm.

Marie-Theres Arnbom's book Friedmann, Gutmann, Lieben, Mandl und Strakosch: Fünf Familienporträts aus Wien vor 1938 (Böhlau Verlag, Wien, 2002) lists the children of Salomon Strakosch with 1st wife [Joh]Anna [geboren Strakosch; she was his cousin] and with 2nd wife Rosalia geboren Wolf.

The children with Salomon's 1st wife [Jo]Anna geb. Strakosch, per a family tree appearing in Arnbom, are: Jonas, Pauline, Moritz, Isidor, Siegmund, Bernard, Eduard [the 6 men were partners in the eventual Gebrüder Strakosch firm]. Arnbom lists the following with the 2nd wife Rosalia Wolf: Simon, David/Dominik, Nathan, Matthias [Max?] Jakob, Julius, Leopold and Henriette.

Czech Jewish Registers shows more children born to Salomon and his wives than Arnbom listed. The others (daughters) are not yet on GENI.

Salomon Strakosch was in textiles. His woolen mill, "HH. Salomon Strakosch's Söhne, für Schaffwollwaren," appears in a list of "Family firms / Brünn" on p. 541 (item #26) of Austria: Archiv für Gesetzgebung und Statistik auf den Gebieten der Gewerbe, des Handels und der Schiffahrt, Volume 15, publ. "In Brno three of the first seven modern steam weaving factories were established by Jews, who had previously been supplying weavers with wool. Among the larger firms was . . . those of the Popper brothers and Salomon Strakosch" (Jewish Virtual Library).
