Son of Major Robert Harris of Albemarle County & Mourning Harris
About 1723 – Tyree Glenn Harris, son of Maj. Robert Harris and Mourning Glenn, was born in Hanover County, Virginia. He later settled in Orange County, North Carolina, becoming High Sheriff there. He also took part in the Battle of Alamance on May 18, 1771, on the side of Gov. Tryon.
Oct. 4, 1787 - RegLn 1315 Jessee Simpson to Richard Oldham [Richard Simpson to Jesse Oldham], 204 acres, proved by Robert Rainey.
Chilton’s notes: Not found, but see CwDB F/178 Jesse Oldham & wife Elizabeth to Thomas Hornbuckle, 4 Oct 1787, 403 acres on S Fork of Stoney Creek, incl where Oldham lives, adj Thomas Brinsfield, Simpson, Tyree Harris, Hughes - two tracts one Richard Simpson to Jesse Oldham, other NC to Jesse Oldham.
NOTE: Tyree Glenn Harris (b. c1723), s/o Maj. Robert Harris (c1698-1765) and Mourning Glenn (c1702-1776). Married Elizabeth Chapman.
Mollie was 2nd wife.
His will - Caswell County, NC WB B, pg. 162, proved Jan court 1787.
